Welcome to Airon. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Airon website (airon.co.za) and the purchase of any products from us. By placing an order or using this site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use this site or purchase our products.

1. About Us

Airon is operated as a sole proprietorship based in South Africa. References to "Airon," "we," "us," or "our" refer to this business. References to "you" or "customer" refer to any person accessing the site or purchasing a product.

2. Products and Intended Use

Airon sells home and garment-care products, including (but not limited to) the Inflatable Auto-Steamer for clothing. These products are consumer household appliances, not professional or industrial equipment. They are intended for general at-home garment steaming and fabric care by healthy adults.

Our products use heat and steam to remove creases from clothing and fabrics. They are not intended for any use other than as described in the user manual and on the product page.

You must read the full Safety Information before using any Airon product. The Safety Information forms part of these Terms.

3. Orders, Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to correct pricing or product description errors and to cancel any order placed at an incorrect price, with a full refund issued.

Orders are confirmed once payment has been successfully received via our supported payment gateways (Payfast, Yoco, or other listed providers). Placing an item in your cart does not reserve stock.

4. Shipping and Delivery

Delivery within South Africa is fulfilled via our nominated courier. Standard delivery is 10–15 business days from order confirmation. While we make every reasonable effort to meet stated delivery windows, we do not guarantee specific delivery dates and are not liable for delays caused by the courier, customs, or events outside our reasonable control.

5. Returns, Refunds and Guarantee

We offer a satisfaction guarantee on Airon products. Full terms — including how to claim, what qualifies as a defective product, and what is excluded — are set out in our Return and Refund Policy.

6. Safety Information

Please read this Safety Information carefully before using any Airon product. By using an Airon product, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted the terms set out below.

Airon Products Are Household Appliances

Airon products — including the Inflatable Auto-Steamer and any other appliance sold by Airon — are consumer household products designed for general at-home garment care. They are not industrial or commercial-grade equipment and should be used only for their intended domestic purpose.

Any benefits described on our website, in our marketing, or in our communications refer to general garment-care performance — not guaranteed outcomes for every fabric or item.

This Is Not Professional Advice

Information provided by Airon, including on our website, product pages, emails, social media, and customer support messages, is for general informational purposes only. It is not professional garment-care or appliance-safety advice and is not intended to replace the guidance in your product's user manual or the recommendations of fabric and garment manufacturers.

Always check the care label of any garment before steaming. If you are unsure whether an item is suitable for steaming, do not steam it.

Take Care When Using the Product

The Inflatable Auto-Steamer produces heat and steam. Use caution at all times. This list is not exhaustive — always follow the full instructions in the user manual:

  • The product produces hot steam and heated surfaces that can cause burns or scalds. Keep hands, face, and skin away from steam outlets and heated parts during and immediately after use.
  • Keep the product out of reach of children and pets at all times.
  • Use only on fabrics and garments that are suitable for steaming according to their care labels. Do not use on delicate, heat-sensitive, or non-steamable materials.
  • Ensure the product is placed on a stable, heat-resistant, level surface during use.
  • Use only with clean water as specified in the user manual. Do not add detergents, fragrances, descaling chemicals, or other substances to the water reservoir unless expressly permitted by the manual.
  • Allow the product to cool fully before emptying, cleaning, deflating, or storing.

Do Not Use the Product

Do not use any Airon product:

  • If the device shows visible damage, exposed wiring, a damaged power cord, or any sign of malfunction.
  • In or near water (bath, shower, pool, or any wet environment), or with wet hands.
  • While unattended or while you are likely to fall asleep.
  • For any purpose other than steaming garments and fabrics as described in the user manual.
  • With accessories or parts that were not supplied by or approved by Airon.
  • By infants, young children, or any person unable to operate the device safely or communicate discomfort.

Stop Using Immediately If

Discontinue use and unplug the device if you experience or notice any of the following:

  • A burning smell, smoke, sparking, or overheating.
  • Steam or water leaking from anywhere other than the intended outlet.
  • The device making unusual noises or behaving abnormally.
  • Any burn, scald, or injury during use.
  • Any electrical fault or tripped circuit.

Use as Intended

Use the product only as described in the user manual and in accordance with the warnings on the product page and in these Terms of Service. Do not modify the device or use accessories that were not supplied by Airon. Do not exceed the recommended continuous run time stated in the user manual.

Your Acknowledgement

By purchasing and using an Airon product, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have read and understood this Safety Information in full.
  • You are responsible for using the product safely and for checking that garments are suitable for steaming.
  • You will use the product only as instructed and within the warnings provided.
  • Airon is not responsible for any injury, harm, property damage, or adverse outcome resulting from use of the product in a manner inconsistent with this Safety Information, the warnings on the product page, or the user manual.

7. Warnings and Safe Use (Important)

The following warnings apply to all Airon products and you must read and follow them before use:

  • Do not use any Airon product if it shows damage to the device, cord, or plug.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or use it in the bath, shower, or any wet environment.
  • Do not touch steam outlets or heated surfaces during or immediately after use.
  • Do not use on fabrics not suitable for steaming, or without first checking the garment's care label.
  • Do not leave the device unattended while switched on or plugged in.
  • Do not use on or near infants, children, or persons unable to operate the device safely or communicate discomfort.
  • Do not add unapproved liquids or substances to the water reservoir.
  • Always allow the device to cool fully before cleaning, emptying, deflating, or storing.
  • Discontinue use immediately and unplug the device if you notice overheating, smoke, a burning smell, leaks, or any malfunction.

These warnings are highlighted in plain language in accordance with Section 49 of the Consumer Protection Act. Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or property damage and may constitute misuse, which affects your rights under these Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Airon products are household appliances for general consumer use, and you assume responsibility for using them in accordance with the warnings, instructions, and Safety Information provided.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, Airon, its owner, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, emotional distress, or any damages arising from the inability to use the product.
  • Airon's total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or relating to an Airon product, however caused, shall not exceed the purchase price actually paid for that product.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law, including liability under Section 61 of the Consumer Protection Act for harm caused by a defective product, or liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence. This clause does not apply where the harm was caused by your misuse of the product, your failure to follow the warnings and instructions, or use of the product contrary to the Safety Information.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Airon and its owner from any third-party claims, losses, or damages arising from your misuse of an Airon product, your failure to follow the warnings, instructions, or Safety Information, or your breach of these Terms.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including the Airon name, logo, product images, copy, photography, and design — is owned by Airon or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, copy, or use any of this content for commercial purposes without written permission.

11. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By placing an order, you consent to the processing of your personal information as described in that policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you place an order is the version that governs your purchase. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms or from an Airon product will first be addressed through good-faith communication with our support team at help@airon.co.za.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission or the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud before pursuing court action. Both parties consent to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

14. Acknowledgement

By placing an order, ticking the "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" checkbox at checkout, or using an Airon product, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms, the Safety Information, the Return and Refund Policy, and the Shipping Policy.
  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You will use the product only in accordance with the warnings and instructions provided.
